But some sections of the new road will be open later this summer, it has been confirmed.

Some closures on the A140 north of the town, between St Michael's Road and Brands Lane, had already been announced - from 8pm on Thursday, July 3, to 6am on Friday, July 4 and from 8pm on Friday, July 4 until 6am on Monday, July 7.

But further closures have now been confirmed. A second weekend closure on the A140 between St Michael's Road and Brands Lane is planned from 8pm on Friday, July 25 until 6am on Monday, July 28.
