Ed Balls on taking Kier Starmer to Carrow Road and Norfolk's best seaside town
Born in the city, Ed grew up in Bawburgh before his family moved to Nottinghamshire when he was eight.
But Norwich has always remained home in his heart, with family ties, childhood memories and two enduring institutions - Carrow Road and Norwich Cathedral - shaping his life
Despite living between London and Castleford, where his wife Home Secretary Yvette Cooper is the MP, Ed Balls still considers Norwich home.
"When people ask me where I’m from, I say, Norwich," he says proudly.

For Ed Balls, Norwich City Football Club is more than just a team - it’s a family tradition.
"One of my earliest memories is going to my first-ever football match at Carrow Road, aged six, in January 1973," he recalls.
"We played Leeds, who were the top club, and we were in the third division, but we drew 1-1.
"It was really exciting, even though we got completely stuffed in the replay."
His passion for the club has only grown over the years. He’s had season tickets since 1995 and served as chairman of the club for three years.
He has also built a huge collection of Norwich scarfs. "If we win, I always think, I should wear the same scarf," he said.........
