Private healthcare firm with hospital in Norfolk agrees £1bn takeover

Spire Healthcare, which has a private hospital at Colney in Norwich and a clinic in King's Lynn, is being bought by Tulip UK.

The newly-formed company comprised of funds managed or advised by British investment firm Toscafund, UK private equity firm THCP Advisory and California-based investment manager Ares.

Spire operates 38 hospitals and more than 55 clinics in England, Wales and Scotland.
