Walk for Bandipur: Environmentalists bat for continuation of night traffic ban in Tiger Reserve

New Delhi: Environmentalists have demanded the continuation of the night traffic ban at the Bandipur Tiger Reserve with hundreds of them staging a ‘Walk for Bandipur’ on Sunday (April 6) amid concerns over the ban being lifted. According to report by news agency PTI, many protesters held placards and banners during the walk from Kaggalahundi in Gundlupet to the Maddur checkpoint. The march was joined by plenty of students and farmers.

The request from the protesters to the Karnataka government was to not lift the ban on nighttime for vehicular movement as they showed concerns over wild animals’ safety.
