India Open 2025: All you need to know about players, venue, dates, live streaming
New Delhi: The India Open badminton tournament is around the corner as the country’s top shuttlers will get the opportunity to play in front of the home crowd in what is the second Badminton World Federation (BWF) event of the season.
The Badminton Association of India (BAI) has fielded its largest ever contingent of 21-member group for the India Open, which will take place at the KD Jadhav Indoor Hall in New Delhi. The big aim for the Indian shuttlers would be to end the title drought in the event as not a single title in any of the five categories was won by India in the last two editions in 2023 and 2024.
This would be a complete redemption for the Indian players following an ordinary Paris Olympics in 2024. Though only Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty made it to the semifinal of the Malaysia Open in the season opener, the other Indian shuttlers can take the India Open to notch up their game.
There will be three men’s singles, four women’s singles, two men’s doubles pair, eight women’s doubles pair, and for mixed doubles pairs. The last Indians to win titles at the India Open are Lakshya Sen (men’s singles) and Satwik-Chirag (men’s doubles). All three will be in contention to lift the........
