Hyderabad civic body turns down ‘Varanasi’ makers’ request for 15 lakh litres of water; here’s why

Representatives of Sri Durga Arts, one of the producers of Varanasi, got in touch with the Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply & Sewerage Board (HMWSSB) urging 150 water tankers of 10,000 litres each. The crew is filming several underwater sequences at the Hyderabad Film City Studio in Gaganpahad.

New Delhi: The request by the makers of SS Rajamouli’s upcoming sci-fi epic Varanasi for 150 water tankers for the shoot has been denied. The city’s water body turned down the unit’s request amid the rising demand for water during the current severe summer in Hyderabad, a report in Telangana Today said.
