New Delhi: The Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) has cracked down the whip on as many as 30 overage wrestlers competing at the junior level by handing them temporary suspensions. In addition, these wrestlers have also been barred from further competitions at the junior level. This comes after the WFI investigated more than 400 such cases after getting complaints.

Acting on tips majorly from the coaches and wrestlers from the Delhi ‘Akharas’ that many wrestlers had arranged fake certificates to show that they were born in the national capital and are eligible to compete at the junior level.
