Kerala clinch junior boys title as 64th Subroto Cup culminates with ravishing closing ceremony
New Delhi: The 64th edition of the Subroto Cup International Football Tournament culminated at the BR Ambedkar stadium in New Delhi on Thursday with Farook Higher Sec School, Kerala beating Amenity Public School, Uttarakhand 2-0 in the final of the boys under-17 category. Takhellamba (20’) and Adikrishna (62’) were the goal scorers for the winning team.
The domestic football spectacle, which started off in the national capital on August 19 with few matches being held in Bengaluru also, came to a glorious end in New Delhi on September 25 with a thrilling contest. An exciting 90-minute encounter between the two best sides in the category enthralled the audience present in the stands.
While the first half of the game witnessed a goal from Kerala side, the second half was also dominated by the same team which scored another goal to notch up a convincing win over Uttarakhand. The Amenity Public School put up a spirited effort in both the halves, also creating some opportunities but failed to convert those.
