In the resolution, Chief Minister Vijay said that the proposed quota must be based on the strength of 543, which is there in the Lok Sabha at the moment. He added that 33 per cent reservation for women must not be delayed.
Chennai: Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay introduced a resolution in the state Assembly urging the Centre to fix the Lok Sabha strength permanently at 543. The TVK Government also called for implementation of 33 per cent reservation for women in the next Lok Sabha elections
