Former Man United midfielder McTominay; eight Premier League players among Ballon d'Or nominees
The 2025 Men’s Ballon d’Or nominees have been announced, with players representing Premier League champions Liverpool and Champions League winners Paris Saint-Germain dominating the list. Former Manchester United midfielder Scott McTominay, who powered Napoli to the Serie A title and won the Most Valuable Player (MVP) award, has also been nominated for the prestigious award.
As many as eight players who currently play in the Premier League have been nominated for the Ballon d’Or this year, including five players from Liverpool. English talisman Harry Kane is also on the list following a goal-laden season with Bayern Munich in the Bundesliga. French forward Ousmane Dembele, who played a key role in PSG’s UCL triumph, is one of the top contenders to win the coveted trophy, which will be presented on 22 September 2025 during a ceremony in Paris.
Besides the Ballon d’Or, several other awards, including Men’s Club of the Year, Men’s Team Coach of the Year, Yachine Trophy (Men’s goalkeeper of the year), and Kopa Trophy (Young player of the year), will be presented on a glittering evening in central Paris.
