New Delhi: Epic Games has rolled out Unreal Engine 5.6 for all developers, bringing several key upgrades to game performance, graphics, and developer tools. The update includes big improvements to ray tracing, world-building speed, streaming systems, and MetaHuman creation tools, all aimed at helping studios create smoother, more detailed games.

This version focuses not just on how games look, but how fast and stable they run. Epic has worked on improving lighting, loading, and animation systems inside the engine, while also giving developers more control and flexibility over how they build and manage scenes. Let’s break down what’s new.

Unreal Engine 5.6 introduces faster hardware-based ray tracing. That means lighting and shadows in games will now look more natural while still running at 60FPS on most modern PCs and consoles. Lumen Global Illumination has also been upgraded to reduce the strain on CPUs.
