Canada has imposed retaliatory tariffs on C$27.6 billion worth of US goods after President Donald Trump introduced fresh duties on Canadian imports. Products including dairy, steel, wood, electronics and beauty items now face tariffs of up to 50 per cent.
Canada’s retaliatory tariffs on American goods came into effect just after midnight on Tuesday, September 8, opening a fresh chapter in the trade fight between Ottawa and US President Donald Trump. The measures cover C$27.6 billion worth of US imports and match tariffs imposed by Washington on Canadian products last month.
The Canadian government says the new duties range from 15 per cent to 50 per cent and apply to goods including dairy products, steel, electronics, appliances, agricultural equipment and wood products. Ottawa says the tariffs apply only to goods........
