Decks cleared for Hyderabad FC to become Sporting Club Delhi
New Delhi: Indian Super League side Hyderabad FC have obtained approval from the Delhi Soccer Association to rebrand themselves as Sporting Club Delhi.
They had faced a roadblock from the DSA over terms and conditions while seeking a fresh registration and new name to play from the Capital but after negotiations, the state association’s executive committee on Friday decided to give the go-ahead.
It would mean that Indian football’s top division would have representation from the national capital for the first time since 2019 when Delhi Dynamos turned into Odisha FC and migrated to Bhubaneswar.
The DSA had demanded Rs 40 lakh as registration fee for approval of their new name, which would have given them permission........
