Swiggy, Zomato, Zepto could soon come under Maharashtra bike-taxi norms

Maharashtra is considering amendments that could bring food delivery and e-commerce platforms such as Swiggy, Zomato, Blinkit and Zepto under bike-taxi regulations. The proposed rules may require electric vehicle fleets, GPS tracking, insurance and licences, while platforms could contribute 2 per cent of each fare towards a driver welfare fund.

Mumbai: Maharashtra could soon bring major food delivery and e-commerce platforms under the state’s bike-taxi regulatory framework, potentially changing how companies such as Swiggy, Zomato, Blinkit and Zepto operate their delivery fleets.
