Erode: In an extraordinary display of dedication, a team of healthcare workers in Tamil Nadu’s remote Bargur Hills in Erode district persisted through 12 failed attempts before finally convincing a reluctant pregnant tribal woman to receive critical medical care. The 13th attempt, lasting four gruelling hours, may have saved two lives – Malliga (21), a severely anemic tribal woman five months into her pregnancy, and her unborn child.
