With light rain in the forecast, some of the biggest celebrities from the world of entertainment are bringing glitz and glamour to the red carpet at the 97th Academy Awards ceremony. The star-studded event was hosted by comedian and podcaster Conan O’Brien, who elevated the entertainment quotient with his signature wit and charm.

When it comes to nominations, leading the race was Netflix’s Emilia Pérez with 13 mentions. However, things took an unexpected turn following an uproar over years-old offensive tweets by its star Karla Sofía Gascón. Also making waves were The Brutalist and the musical hit Wicked, both securing 10 nominations each.

Joining the ceremony were last year’s acting winners: Emma Stone, Robert Downey Jr, Cillian Murphy, and Da’Vine Joy Randolph. Not to forget, an exciting lineup of performances that enthralled viewersthroughout.

As her name was announced, celebrities in the audience honoured her with a standing ovation. Mikey appeared a bit nervous as she read her acceptance speech from a piece of paper.

The legendary American filmmaker graced the stage to announce the winner in the Best Directing category. Once again, Sean Baker bagged the Oscar for Anora.
