BMW’s electric 5 Series gets longer in India, i5 LWB starts at ₹79.60 lakh

BMW has launched the i5 Long Wheelbase in India at ₹79.60 lakh. The locally built electric sedan gets a 669-kilometer claimed range, rear-wheel drive, 160 kW fast charging and more rear-seat space aimed at chauffeur-driven buyers.

New Delhi: BMW has launched the i5 Long Wheelbase in India at ₹79.60 lakh, ex-showroom, giving its electric 5 Series more rear-seat space and a stronger chauffeur-driven focus. The car will be locally produced at BMW Group Plant Chennai, with deliveries starting immediately.

This is BMW India’s first locally produced electric sedan. The i5 eDrive35L M Sport arrives with a longer wheelbase, an 81.6 kWh battery, up to 669 kilometers of claimed MIDC range and a rear-wheel-drive electric setup producing 268 hp.
