Delhi records hottest March week in 50 years, AQI slips to poor category

Saturday was the hottest March day in Delhi, with maximum temperatures reaching 35.7 degrees Celsius. In fact this has been the hottest first week of March in the national capital, in the last 50 years. Temperatures are expected to rise further in the city. Meanwhile, the AQI in the city had fallen to 'poor' category on Saturday, but this is expected to improve a bit to 'moderate' level by Monday.

New Delhi: Hot summer days are already here in March, unusually early for Delhi. On Saturday the city recorded a maximum temperature of 35.7 degrees Celsius, which is the highest temperature recorded in the city for the first week of March in the last 50 years. The minimum temperature in the city was 17.4 degrees Celsius, which is also 3.4 degrees above normal for this time of the year.

According to the India Meteorological Department there are no chances of any relief from the hot weather even on Sunday.
