‘Students have eyes too’: Rahul Gandhi counters Kiren Rijiju’s ‘no serious injuries’ claim

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday attacked the government after Kiren Rijiju said in an interview that none of the student protestors were seriously injured during the Jantar Mantar protests in Delhi. Gandhi said that he himself had met the students in hospital and had seen their injuries. He accused the government of lying on the extent of injuries to student protestors.

New Delhi: Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi launched a sharp attack on the government, after Union Minister Kiren Rijiju claimed that no student protestors in Delhi “suffered serious injuries” after police action against them at Jantar Mantar recently. Gandhi said that he had met the injured students himself and saw their injuries after the protest march in Delhi.

He also warned the government that students had “eyes and memories” and therefore their lies would not work........
