The announcement came during the board’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) held in Mumbai on Sunday, September 28. Manhas will succeed Roger Binny who stepped down last month after turning 70.

A familiar name in Indian cricket circles, Manhas was elected unopposed, marking him as the third successive former cricketer to assume the BCCI’s top post after Sourav Ganguly and Binny.
