Former Delhi cricketer Mithun Manhas takes over as BCCI President
New Delhi: Mithun Manhas has been officially elected as the new president of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). The announcement came during the board’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) held in Mumbai on Sunday, September 28. Manhas will succeed Roger Binny who stepped down last month after turning 70.
A familiar name in Indian cricket circles, Manhas was elected unopposed, marking him as the third successive former cricketer to assume the BCCI’s top post after Sourav Ganguly and Binny. His appointment follows an informal meeting in New Delhi earlier this month where senior administrators reached a consensus on his candidature.
The man who played an impressive 18-year first-class career brings with him vast cricketing and administrative experience. Before this........
