Akaisha Vats reveals how she bagged the role in ‘Dhurandhar’; says she started working at 16

Akaisha Vats talked her entry into the film industry and revealed how she had initially auditioned for a different role in the movie.

Mumbai: Akaisha Vats, who played the role of Uzair’s wife in the blockbuster hit Dhurandhar, spoke of how she entered the film industry. She even touched upon her humble upbringing and how she had to start working at the age of 16 due to financial issues.

How did you bag the role?

I auditioned a few times. Then I heard the narration. I got goosebumps when I heard the story. I didn’t have to think twice about whether I should do this film or not. It’s a magical story. I also come from a humble background. I started working at the age of 16. I have faced hardships at a very young age. This is a story of people who go through a hard journey in life.

Can you elaborate on the hardships you faced at a young age that resonated with you when you heard this story?

My parents got separated, and my mother was not working at the time. So, we had financial difficulties. I was a shy, introverted girl. I never had any plans of becoming an actor and facing........
