Economic Survey 2024-25: Industry to grow by 6.2% this year; focus on MSME to continue
The Economic Survey 2024-25 has stated that the industrial sector is likely to grow at a clip of 6.2% according to the first advance estimates of GDP. Among the major growth drivers of the industry are electricity and construction. The Economic Survey 2024-25 was tabled in Parliament on Friday, January 31 by Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman. The survey hoped that investments in R&D, innovations and increasing formalisation of smaller manufacturers will provide impetus to growth in different sectors, said an official statement.
The Economic Survey also stated that India has a 2.8% share of global manufacturing and stands a good chance of benefiting from trends in global industrial diversification, in keeping with manufacturing production centres gradually shifting towards economies such as India and China.
