New Delhi: Lord Ganesha is instantly recognisable by his elephant face, large ears, curved trunk and powerful presence. But Ganesha Ji’s elephant face has a remarkable story behind it. His elephant head came after a tragic incident at Kailash, when Shivji severed the head of the young Ganesha Ji without knowing that He was Parvati Maa’s son. 

To bring Him back to life, Shivji asked His soldiers to find a particular head. They eventually returned with the head of Gajasura, and Shivji placed it on Ganesha Ji’s body.

But why was Gajasura’s head chosen, and how did this extraordinary transformation take place?

How was Ganesha Ji born

Parvati Maa created a young boy from sandalwood paste taken from Her body and earth. She lovingly shaped him and gave him life.

The boy was Ganesha Ji.

When Parvati Maa went to bathe, She asked Ganesha Ji to guard the entrance and make sure that nobody entered without Her........
