Delhi govt allows monthly school fees; private schools can’t force advance payments

The Delhi government has issued a directive to the private unaided schools not to force parents or guardians to pay fees more than one month at a time.

New Delhi: The Directorate of Education (DoE) issued a directive to the private unaided schools of Delhi that they cannot compel or mandate parents or guardians to pay fees for more than one month at a time. The order was released on Friday, May 1, after several complaints were lodged by the parents that some schools are pressurising families to pay fees on a bi-monthly, quarterly, or advance basis.
