An Apollo astronaut had recorded a message specifically for the Artemis II crew. The crew is executing the first lunar flyby in over 50 years.
New Delhi: The crew of the Artemis II mission received a message specifically recorded for them by former NASA astronaut Jim Lovell, before he passed away in August 2025. Lovell said, “Hello, Artemis II! This is Apollo astronaut Jim Lovell. Welcome to my old neighborhood! When Frank Borman, Bill Anders, and I orbited the Moon on Apollo 8, we got humanity’s first up-close look at the Moon and got a view of the home planet that inspired and united people around the world.
