Sukhbir Badal’s SAD backs Women’s Reservation, Delimitation Bills a day after meeting PM Modi

The Shiromani Akali Dal has announced its support for the Women’s Reservation Bill and the Delimitation Bill after a meeting of senior party leaders in Chandigarh. SAD president Sukhbir Singh Badal called for their immediate implementation and backed a uniform 50 per cent increase in seats across all states.

New Delhi: Shiromani Akali Dal president Sukhbir Singh Badal on Saturday announced the party’s support for the Women’s Reservation Bill and the Delimitation Bill. The announcement came a day after Badal met Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The decision was taken during a meeting of senior SAD leaders in Chandigarh. The party discussed key issues expected to come before Parliament and called for the immediate implementation of both measures.
