Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has claimed that people in Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir would have demanded a merger with Jammu and Kashmir if Article 370 had remained in force. He also expressed concern over reported deaths, injuries and arrests during protests in PoK. The BJP called his Independence Day remarks irresponsible and accused him of using the occasion for politics.
