New Delhi: BJP national vice-president and Lok Sabha MP Baijayant Panda has proposed mandatory parental consent for children below 13 to open social media accounts, warning that addictive algorithms pose a serious threat to young users.

In an exclusive interview with News9Live Managing Editor Kartikeya Sharma, Panda discussed his private member’s bill titled the Safeguarding Healthy Internet Environments for the Little Digital Natives (SHIELD) Bill, 2025.
