New Delhi: Liverpool failed to sign Marc Guehi from Crystal Palace on deadline day despite having agreed a deal for the English defender. Guehi had made up his mind about leaving Palace and was also permitted by Palace to undergo his medical before his move to the reigning Premier League champions. However, the deal collapsed at the last minute after Palace decided against sanctioning the move.

Guehi was Liverpool’s preferred centre-back target in the 2025-26 summer transfer window, which concluded on Monday. However, the reigning champions, who broke the Premier League transfer record twice in the window and spent over 400 million pounds on new signings, left it too late for the 25-year-old.
