New Delhi: Defending champion Aryna Sabalenka will take on home favourite Jessica Pegula, while a resurgent Naomi Osaka will be up against Amanda Anisimova in the women’s singles semi-finals at the US Open 2025 on Friday. World no.1 Sabalenka entered the semi-final after being given a walkover by Marketa Vondrousova in their quarter-final clash, while Pegula defeated Barbora Krejcikova in the quarters.

Sabalenka has entered her fifth consecutive semi-final at the US Open and has done so without dropping a set in the tournament so far. The Belarusian top seed defeated Pegula in the final last year to claim her maiden US Open title and would be hoping to do the same in the semi-finals on Friday as she aims to lift her second consecutive title.

Sabalenka has reached two Grand Slam finals in 2025, but is yet to win a major title this year. She lost to Madison Keys in the Australian Open final earlier this year, before going down against Coco Gauff in the French Open 2025 final. Pegula, on the other........
