No contest, lack of hype as favourites India take on Pakistan in Asia Cup 2025
New Delhi: Irrespective of the tournament, India and Pakistan playing each other is always a grand affair. But the lack of hype is telling this time around as the arch-rivals gear up to face each other in what will be their first cricket meeting post the Pahalgam terror attack and Operation Sindoor. Not too long back, the two countries were involved in a military standoff with bilateral ties hitting an all-time low.
The situation hasn’t improved much with the border tensions still on between the neighbours, but following the Indian government’s nod, BCCI has allowed the match to take place despite massive outrage across the nation.
