Neeraj Chopra fails to breach 90m mark, finishes 2nd at Janusz Kusocinski Memorial with 84.14m throw

New Delhi: India’s Golden Boy Neeraj Chopra failed to breach the 90m mark in the men’s javelin throw event at the Janusz Kusocinski Memorial in Poland on Friday, May 23. Fresh from breaching the 90m mark for the first time in his career at the Doha Diamond League last week, Neeraj was looking to replicate his heroics in Poland. However, he fell significantly short of the 90m mark.

In what was a disappointing night for the two-time Olympic medallist, Neeraj had to dig deep to finish second with his best throw of 84.14m in his final sixth attempt. He once again finished behind Germany’s Julian Weber, who took the top spot in the standings at the Janusz Kusocinski Memorial with an 86.12m throw in his third attempt.
