India A's top four slam fifties as visitors draw against England Lions in 1st unofficial Test

New Delhi: India A’s top four slammed half-centuries apiece to lift the visitors to 241/2 in 41 overs in their second innings as the first unofficial Test against England Lions ended in a draw at the St Lawrence Ground in Canterbury on Monday, June 02. Skipper Abhimanyu Easwaran, opener Yashasvi Jaiswal, Dhruv Jurel and Nitish Kumar Reddy scored half-centuries to make the most of the batting-friendly track in Canterbury.

After England Lions rode on centuries from opener Tom Haines, Max Holden and Dan Mousley to post 587 runs on the board in their first innings, in response to the visitors’ first-innings total of 557 runs, the India A batters made merry in the high-scoring encounter. Openers Jaiswal and Easwaran got India A off to a brilliant start in the second innings with a 123-run opening stand.

Jaiswal notched up his fifty en route to a dashing 64 off 60 balls, while Easwaran rectified his errors from the first innings to score a valuable 68........
