Explained! How Pakistan can miss out on Super 4 spot in Asia Cup 2025 after India defeat
New Delhi: A four-wicket haul from pacer Junaid Siddique and half-centuries from openers Alishan Sharafu and skipper Muhammad Waseem helped UAE thrash Oman by 42 runs in their second group-stage match in the Asia Cup 2025 on Sunday. UAE knocked Oman out of the tournament with their comprehensive victory, while also putting Pakistan’s Super 4 chances in jeopardy.
Pakistan, who suffered a crushing 7-wicket defeat against arch-rivals India in Dubai on Sunday, are now in a precarious position in the tournament as they might lose out on a spot in the next round. UAE’s win over Oman on Monday has made Pakistan’s final group-stage clash against the home team a virtual knockout clash.
After facing a 9-wicket thrashing at the hands of defending champions India in the opener, UAE bounced back to beat Oman........
