Abhishek, Gill launched BrahMos after Farhan signalled AK-47: Ex-Pakistan star rips into Salman Ali Agha & Co.
New Delhi: Former Pakistan spinner Danish Kaneria ripped into the Salman Ali Agha-led side after their six-wicket defeat against India in their Super 4 clash in the Asia Cup 2025. Kaneria was blunt in his assessment of Pakistan’s loss as he lauded Indian openers Abhishek Sharma and Shubman Gill for their brilliant counter-attack in the game.
Kaneria said Abhishek and Gill launched a BrahMos of their own after Pakistan opener Sahibzada Farhan signalled an AK-47 during his celebration. Farhan top-scored for Pakistan in the game with a crucial knock of 58 runs, helping them post a strong total of 171 runs on the board. However, his efforts went in vain as Pakistan lost the game by 6 runs.
After completing his half-century, Farhan did a controversial ‘gun-firing’ celebration, which was deemed provocative by many. Kaneria hailed Gill and Abhishek for giving a befitting reply with their sublime knocks.
