'Jung hi kar lete, woh bhi nahi ki': Ex-Pakistan captain's scathing attack on India over Asia Cup handshake snub
New Delhi: Former Pakistan skipper Rashid Latif launched a scathing attack at India following the Indian players’ decision to ditch the customary handshake with Pakistan players following the clash between the two sides in the Asia Cup 2025. India thrashed Pakistan by 7 wickets in Dubai to continue their winning run in the tournament and qualify for the Super Four stage.
As a symbolic gesture of protest following the Pahalgam terror attack earlier this year, the Indian players and support staff maintained distance from their Pakistani counterparts during the Group A match between the two sides on Sunday. Pakistan-linked terrorists opened fire on tourists in Jammu & Kashmir’s Pahalgam, killing 26 innocent people in a ghastly attack in April this year.
Following the attack, the Indian armed forces conducted Operation Sindoor in response, targeting the terrorist infrastructure inside Pakistan. Tensions intensified between the two countries following Operation Sindoor, leading to escalated military tensions.
