On Thursday, details leaked of the already infamous 28-point peace plan for the Ukraine war, which is less a “peace” plan and more a set of Russian demands.
While U.S. Secretary of War Pete Hegseth had already banned Pentagon officials from attending the Halifax conference, a cross-party delegation of U.S. senators headed by Jeanne Shaheen and Mike Rounds were there.
On Saturday evening, having just been briefed by U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Rounds emphatically stated that the 28-point plan was not “our peace plan … and we did not release it. It was leaked.”
