I was eating Greggs way before it became fashionable and its savoury items - and custard slices of course - have always been a big hit in our house.

Yes, it might not be the healthiest food in the world, nobody feels virtuous about tucking into a Steak Bake, but like anything, it's a nice treat now and then.

But the retailer is selling much more than pasties and donuts these days.

From breakfast barms and porridge, to flatbreads, wedges, pasta, chicken goujons and pepperoni pizza, there are all kinds of snacks up for grabs.

Just this week the chain has expanded its menu with seven additional items, some of them brand new and other old favourites making a return.

Among the new ones is its barbecue chicken range, with its BBQ Crispy Chicken Burger and BBQ Chicken Wrap available in selected shops as it takes on the like........
