Instead of an anti-woke election, Donald Trump woke Canadians up to bigger issues

A year ago the Poilievre bros were gloating. Loving the polls and gleefully taunting Liberal and NDP types about a “NO WOKE” future Canada.

Only a few months ago, CPC brass were publicly deriding fellow Conservatives like Erin O’Toole and long-time loyalists like Walied Soliman on X. To some it felt like a purge — preparation for a Poilievre coronation in which those who dared to challenge the leader in any way were unnecessary, unwanted and unwelcome. But only a short time later, after the election of Trump and his erratic, serious and unprecedented attack on Canada, we see why leaders keep every supporter onside and never take victory for granted.

With Trudeau leaving (on a high note), the carbon tax axed, capital gains gone and the ballot question being who can best take on Trump and protect the Canadian economy, the Conservatives are flailing, Carney is rising to the occasion, and Canadians are more engaged than ever.
