Responding to a user on X, the OpenAI CEO said that common courtesies such as “please” and “thank you” to ChatGPT’s many versions cost his company substantially — “Tens of millions of dollars well spent, you never know,” he wrote. In other words, every time one expresses gratitude to the machine, somewhere a server burns a little brighter — and OpenAI’s expenses soar.

The figure might be somewhat inflated........
