Earlier this month, a women’s sports bar called Jolene, Jolene took up residency in Atlanta’s Pullman Yards. The line on opening day was out the door. And no wonder—after years of struggling to compete for sponsors and viewers, women’s sports are hot right now.
Overall, women’s sports viewership grew 18 percent in 2024, with soccer and basketball being particularly popular; the 2024 Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA) draft saw a 307 percent increase in viewership year-over-year.
