Watch Out for ‘Ghost Listings’ in the Jobs Forecast
A new analysis of government job data finds nearly a third of all work opportunities are dead-end positions that were never filled.

Rising concerns about labor market’s health has been generated by the low, and at time entirely flat hiring rates by U.S. employers since May. Now it appears recruitment may have been even more anemic than believed. According to a new report, around 30 percent of all employment postings in recent months — and even years — were never filled, creating an artificially inflated picture of far lower job creation.
