82 Percent of Companies Are Building Pay Transparency Systems. Only 11 Percent Have Fully Implemented Them

A new survey finds that while most companies are working toward greater pay transparency, few have the systems and trained managers needed to answer employees’ questions.

Improved transparency on salaries and broader remuneration packages has become an increasingly insistent workplace demand, especially among Gen Zers with no qualms about discussing what they make. Yet despite that pressure from staff—as well as 18 U.S. states now having laws on the books requiring greater business clarity on pay structures—a new study finds many companies are unprepared to respond to employee challenges about how they and their colleagues are being paid.
