Stan Kroenke Has Won Almost Everywhere. His $4 Billion Angels Bet Highlights a Leadership Paradox

Stan Kroenke has plenty of reasons to trust his instincts. His sports empire includes the Los Angeles Rams, Denver Nuggets, Colorado Avalanche, Colorado Rapids, and Arsenal, and teams in that portfolio have won championships across multiple sports. Now he has agreed to acquire a controlling interest in the Los Angeles Angels in a deal the Los Angeles Times reports values the team at an MLB-record $4 billion. The Angels have not had a winning season since 2015. The transaction is expected to become official in the first quarter of 2027, pending Major League approval.
