Former President Barack Obama is speaking out against President Donald Trump’s deployment of the National Guard in Washington, DC.

“The erosion of basic principles like due process and the expanding use of our military on domestic soil puts the liberties of all Americans at risk, and should concern democrats and republicans alike,” Obama posted on Thursday.

Trump said there was a “crime emergency” in DC earlier this month after an administration staffer was mugged, and has since sent in National Guard units to patrol the streets of the capital. Some of those units are armed........
