There have been so many moments since becoming a mum where I’ve been flooded with appreciation for my parents. (Don’t get me wrong, I always appreciated them, but having kids definitely gave me newfound respect for what they put up with.)

“It was just there for as long as I could recall, because I’d made them all. Now as I watch my child systematically destroy my home, I’m hopping around like: ‘stop slamming that door into the wall! Stop bashing the bath with your toys! Stop driving your cars into the window frame! Oh my god why did you pick at the shower sealant?!’ Etc. Everything has dents and scratches and water stains and chips. EVERYTHING.”

2. “Leaving doors open in winter ...”

“Like when you are paying the energy bill it becomes more important. Same with leaving things on when not in use.”

-

And in the same vein... “Turning off lights when you’re not in the room. Electricity isn’t free!”

-

3. “Kids using the sofa as a trampoline.”

4. “Why grabbing random things off shelves while shopping & checking if we needed them got me shouted at, it saved her looking........
