Robert Jenrick has insisted Kemi Badenoch is doing “a bloody good job” amid speculation he is manoeuvring to become Tory leader.

The shadow justice secretary said critics of Badenoch’s performance in the job should “give her a break”.

He also denied that he wants to form a coalition with Reform UK and instead said he wants to “send Nigel Farage back to retirement”.
