Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov

Vladimir Putin’s spokesperson rolled out a classic Kremlin falsehood this morning.

A day after bombarding Ukraine with 700 drones, Dmitry Peskov told the press that Russia is still trying to “achieve our goals” through “peaceful” means.

Of course, it was Russia who invaded its neighbour back in February 2022 in a brutal land grab, eight years after illegally annexing the Ukrainian peninsula of Crimea.

And it is Moscow who currently controls around a fifth of Ukraine’s sovereign land, and is continually trying to push forward to take more.

According to the US, more than 1.2 million people have been killed or injured since the war begun.
