David Lammy has been warned he could “end up in The Hague” unless he takes more extreme action to condemn Israel’s war in Gaza.

Conservative MP Kit Malthouse addressed the foreign secretary in the Commons on Monday after Lammy announced that he – and 25 of his international counterparts – were once again urging Israel to commit to a ceasefire now.

The minister also called Israel’s new aid system in Gaza “a grotesque spectacle”, noting that almost 1,000 civilians have been killed since May just trying to access that relief.

Lammy announced that the UK was putting aside an extra £40 million for humanitarian assistance in Gaza this year, while repeating the UK’s call for the Hamas hostages to be released and for a two-state solution to be........
