Vladimir Putin’s government has attacked Donald Trump’s administration after announced it would be sending military equipment to Ukraine once more.

The White House paused its regular shipments to Kyiv last week over fears that the US was facing its own shortages.

Russia celebrated the news at the time, claiming the fewer weapons Ukraine’s allies provided, “the closer the end of the war”.

But the US president told reporters on Monday that he would be sending “some more weapons” after all.
